Cancer sucks- people don't have to!

I am really sorry for how long it’s taken for this post to come up, I am disappointed with myself and am feeling guilty but everything has just been so busy, literally been flooded with homework (or at least my desk was).

So I decided to make this post really special and dedicate it to probably one of the most inspirational people I have ever met, she has done an incredible act of selflessness, and really deserves so much credit, this post is dedicated to the 12 year old- Grace Elizabeth Mann.

I heard about her cutting her hair for cancer charities on Instagram, where she posted photo, with a caption that said if the post received 100likes she would cut her hair off for charities- I remember thinking that she proved that humanity isn’t actually a bad thing and that social media isn’t actually that bad, when people are capable of using it to a positive advantage; you get people who are 18, that are incapable of using social media appropriately however this motivating year 7 has really given me a reason to carry on using sites such as Instagram and has really opened my eyes to the goodness that we as people possess in ourselves.

I was very fortunate, and had the possibility to speak to Grace herself, who mentioned that she herself, is encouraged by those effected by cancer and finds it incredible they are all so dedicated to standing up against cancer.

Emma Watson looking stunning in her pixie hair cut.
A lot of celebrities are criticised about causing illnesses such as anorexia and other common eating disorders, after Grace Mann had her hair cut off she realised that maybe celebrities are trying to motivate teens and elder children to support causes by actually cutting their hair to a shorter length and attempting to bring short hair into fashion. Celebrities such as Emma Watson, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence all look breathless with their short hair, and are all example of people who may be trying to help such causes.
Jennifer Lawrence looks breath taking.

The experience taught the inspiring 12 year old, how fortunate she is, and made her thankful as many cancer patients don’t have the choice of cutting their hair, she was really excited about the thought of having her hair turned into a wig for someone fighting the dreadful illness, she is delighted to have had the ability to help others and feels so much better about herself.

She feels like her sister was so supportive though the process, all her family made comments on how selfless she was and what a brave act she’s committed, her family has supported her with love and she received many comments such as

“That’s such a selfless thing to do,”

I wouldn’t doubt for one second that all of their hearts are pumping with pride, and are forever thankful to have such a wonderful person in their family.

She is overwhelmed from all the support she received on her Instagram page, where many people left comments such as “You’re such a wonderful person and I admire you, for what you’re doing!”

Out of the hundreds of comments she received her favourite is

“You’re perfect and absolutely amazing, if not a little hostile sometimes!”

With one selfless act over with, she’s already planning more fundraising ideas, which will support people suffering terminal illnesses such as lupus (which is a not well known disease and is often poorly understood, it ranges from mild to life threating). I was thinking (I know it probably won’t happen but you know…) if we as a society would be capable of working together to create something wonderful – I don’t know what yet- that would give support to those who need it and give people hope that maybe one day they will be able to live the life they deserve. If you own a company, or a just a person, no matter what age! GET IN TOUCH! I cannot do this by myself and I feel like non of us will be sorry for giving it a go, so just email me ( beautyofagirl22@gmail.com ) with the subject HANDS ON, and just let me know about any ideas that you have about helping me in this project.
