Siblings

With Easter almost gone, it’s time to share our chocolates with our siblings, those slightly annoying people, who we argue with, who steal our parents attention, get us into trouble and cause arguments, yet at the same time we deep know how much we love them, they are our partners in crime and our rocks. I have a younger sister, so I know all about the rollercoaster that we’re all on, today’s blog is aimed to help you know when to take that minute out, to stop arguments and when we’re on a low, how to try and give ourselves a heads up to getting happier again.

Sometimes, maybe after a hard day at school, we become very easily irritable, and it’s at this point that things often turn ugly – I often find myself getting annoy at the slightest things, comment of the blog, does this happen to you? It’s often at this point, that I feel like I need to go to my room, shut the door and put on my headphones and just listen to music, it’s important for our health that we are able to do this, so next time that you’re getting frustrated go to a quiet corner, pick up your book or plug your head phones and just zone out for 5 -10 minutes, it may not sound like a lot however just getting in the correct piece of mind is really healthy and can save a lot of arguments.
When you’ve hit a low with your siblings, you probably feel guilty, I know how adult like this sounds but be the bigger person, branch out a hand, I don’t mean give them a 5 hour apology but just start a conversation about your day at school, a music band you’re both fond of, open up about that person you like, just say something personal or meaningful, it can really help soften the ice and get rid of the elephant in the room ( the awkward situation, that guilty feeling).

I bet even Beyoncé argues with her sister.
Once again, thank you for the continued support through Instagram, and let me know wat your Easter was like, what you think of the website and any topics you want me to cover, any opinions will really been taken into option, by just saying a few words you can really make my day and put a smile on my face. I'm really sorry for this post being a bit shorter it's just I've been working on a couple of other things around my blog and potential future paths for myself and I'm really sorry- next post will be on the 1st of April- it's been so fun to write and I'm really excited to share it with you all :)
Sending hugs and kisses along with Easter wishes

Rascims

Hello beautiful people! I just want to remind you how incredible you all are, and that although it may seem unlikely during many times- when you’re feeling low and the whole world seems against you, everyday someone takes a second glance at you, someone envies your beautiful smile and eyes and your intelligence, someone would do anything to have the warm heart you do, and to be as patient as you are, every single one of your features is incredible and you have been envied by more than one person. I know that’s hard to believe but take it from me- it’s true, you’re more beautiful than you think, you’re smarter than you know and you’re more beautiful than you will ever believe in.

Today, I want to talk about racism, it was a topic requested by one of my internet friends and it’s something that lies close to my heart, I have two stories that do touch me (they might not touch you- but hey) and then I’ve just got some tips for you to enjoy, hopefully they’ll help you or your friends accept yourselves and be capable to deal with the experience because it’s something that I really stand against.

So, (tries to set story theme- realises you might not have time so skips straight in) we were playing netball and one of my closest friends (let’s call her A) was marking a girl (who we’re going to call) and A made contact with B, you see A has an Thailand background and therefore appears almost like a dark tanned look, but trust me she is stunning, inside and out. And A accidently scratched B, after we restarted the game and the ball moved away from us, B turned to A and pointing at a scratch on her arm said
‘’I’ve been scratched by an animal’’

And although it wasn’t anywhere near the place where A scratched her it broke my heart to hear her apologising! She had obviously been referred to that previously and was really hurt by that so even though B was referring to her dog, A took it in as if she was referring to her. This made me realise how desperately I needed to write this post and what an awful thing racism is.

Moving swiftly onto the next story, we were in the corridor and there was a massive rush, towards the door, there was a girl next to me, Polish background, who was pushed into this boy who smokes, and is never really at school, basically not a great person who considers himself the best, but really he’s in the lowest set and is just one of the popular and believes everyone should bend down to him, the girl is so intelligent and is in top set for most things, and is really respected by everyone. I was so angry to hear what he shouted that I literally could go up to him and punch him,

“Ewwww, immigrant get off”

How could she have avoided getting pushed into him? It wasn’t her fault! She didn’t even hurt him- I was so angry and it broke my heart to see her blushing and her eyes filling with water- her family is independent of both of her parent’s work- she didn’t deserve that.

TIPS FOR DEALING WITH RASCIM

1)      Realise that you’re not over reacting, if it’s bothering you and if it’s a repeated offence than it can be caused as anti-social behaviour, which if it is serious can actually be illegal and therefore as a victim you have the right to call the police, and seek help.

2)      Make it about the words or behaviour- instead of saying they are being racist, you can say something like “That phrase is offensive to my background…” explaining it to them after, if you are able to use the particular phrase- teachers and forces such as the police will be capable to react much faster.

3)      Talk about it to your friends (the ones who aren’t being racist)- at first you may be frighten to go straight to the teacher or police but talk to the people in the environment where it happens because they will probably be able to show how to react to the situation and what kind of punishment to expect for the person hurting you.

4)      Deal with the racist in a group setting in order for you to have your friends there for support, the person may become more intimidated and therefore act with more respect towards you.

5)      Don’t react, don’t attack them back or swear at them because it will only turn people against you and you may have trouble getting the help you deserve and it can just land you in trouble.

HOW TO FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF AFTER BEING A VICTIM OF RASCIMS

1)      Embrace your individuality- wear clothes and make up that highlight your best features and the parts of yourself that you feel best about.

2)      Embrace your strengths- •You can work on recognizing when your thoughts are overly negative and turn them around to lead yourself to a healthier mind-set. For every negative thought that crosses your mind, fight it with at least two or three positive thoughts. For example, if you think, "I look so tired today," you can say, "But my hair looks pretty great and I still have an amazing smile." Be compassionate toward yourself. Talk to yourself like you would the person/animal you most love when you're hurting inside.

On a deeper level, if you think something like, "I am just so awkward in social situations," you should say, "But I usually know how to make people laugh and people seem really comfortable around me."

I really hope you enjoyed reading this, if you ever have anything you want me to cover please don’t be afraid to get in touch, over Easter I promise I will work on being more regular with posts because I love writing and I just find it such a positive experience however the amount of homework I have right now is crazy, I’m not complying but I have priorities which come before my blog- this week focus on realising you are beautiful xoxoxox

Sending hugs and kisses
